I don't think the clock has been over wound as it was working perfectly before transporting it to my house I just cant understand why its not working.

I have just recently moved my nannas grandmother/grandfather clock to my house I put all the weights on they are at the top moved the wooden pendulum[it has a brass circle at the bottom] from side to side the left tick sounds good but the right hand tock doesn't sound right and of course it ticks for about 4 swings and then stops I need it to work it was at my nannas what do I do?

If my memory serves me right when a spring driven clock was wound up fully and didn't work everyone said 'You've over wound it' You can't overwind a spring driven clock what stops them working is wear, Sticky old oil or dirt.
Take it to a clock repairer who will inspect it for wear on all moving parts especially drive cogs teeth.
then will give a rough estimate including cleaning.

Don't be shocked at the price its not an easy job I've done it, not repairing but assembling small to large clocks and most work is done through a magnifier which can play havoc on the mince pies (eyes) with some especially me wearing specs n'all, so had to give it up.

Moved on to gold leaf work beating to 1/64 thousands of an inch (Green when looked through) and applying to book pages, covers and spines as well as plaster of Paris objects, thought I'd get that in. Another looks easy but not job.
