How do I replace the springs in my upvc window handles?

My upvc window handles appear to have locked and I cannot move them to open them, what is the problem, I have not locked them. how do I get the handles to open, I need step by step instruction.
I saw one questytion similar to mine, so I assume by the answer that the springs have gone, but how do I get to the springs to replace them.
Sorry do not know make and model of windows as have just bought the property.

just had a second thought have the handles got buttons on if so press the button then turn the handle

IF THEY ARE NOT LOCKED THEN THERE IS NO REASON FOR THEM NOT TO OPEN I SUGGEST YOU SNAP ONE OFF IF YOU LOOK AT HANDLE YOU SHOULD SEE A SCREW ON ONE SIDE IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO GET A STANLEY BLADE TO REMOVE LITTLE COVER PLATE TO REVEAL SCREW THEN YOU WILL NEED TO FORCE HANDLE UNTIL IT SNAPS ONCE HANDLE IS OUT OF WAY YOU CAN THEN GET AT SECOND SCREW UNDO BOTH SCREWS AND THEN TAKE HANDLE TO NEAREST SUPPLIERS SCREW CENTRES ARE NORMALLY 43MM NOT WORTH ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE SPRINGS?
