have a stockbridge heater - fan and light ok, NO heat though - any suggestions

The red switch will not stay switched on. When I press to switch it on, it lights up but if I release the switch it immediately switches off. It won’t stay in the “on” position.

If the blower fan is running it could be the element,but I'm sure there is a resettable cutout attached to the element
