I was using the scanner and stopped to have a cup of tea and when I came back the light in the bottom of the scanner had stopped. Looks like the LED plate at the bottom has died. Camera in the top still OK.

I've not got any information or experience on your scanner, so can only make a suggestion that you may want to try. If you can take the scanner apart and get to the LED array, there may be a loose connection where the wires to or from the LED array connects to the main board.
