i have 40 gig h/d pc says its only 10g ?????? help?

i have a 40 gig harddrive but pc says its only 10 gig what can i do 2 make it 40 again runnin on xp pro its a old packard bell club 80

its a common thing with old motherboards, they can only recognise up to 10 gig

This happens when you dont format it properly when installing windows I guess your using win 9x or me.

did you put in the drive yourself check the pins on the back of the drive see if is set at 40 gigs it is written on it wath to do

Right-click on your My Computer icon and select Manage.

Then select Disk Management.

You should see an illustration of your hard disk/s.

You may need a product like Partition Magic to alter the size of your drive.
