i went into my windows explorer and right clicked on it and went to properties and then clicked on system restore i put a tick in the box turn off system restore then i restarted the pc and done a scan and i still have loads of viruses they are trojan and spyware i not know wat else i can do as i cant afford to buy virus packages or have debit or credit card so i cant register with companies to get full versions to be able to get rid of them. does anyone have any advice for me short of getting rid of my pc thank you.

If a virus has already broken through your defences, then you can try any type of Anti-Virus program! Nothing will give you anything to cheer. The best way is to format your system through a clean bootable CD and re-install all your softwares.

You must remember, that a Windows become more and more unstable with each passing day (as nearly all entries of programs installed and removed are kept in Registeries and other files which makes system more and more vulnerable). So consider it as a rule of thumb to format your system once a year to keep it running fast!

Get AVG free anti-virus, not only is iy free it's one of the best.
Or get a Dos virus checker. Boot up to command prompt only then run it. many virus are in memory when windows loads.

When you attempt to remove these problems, don't just switch off system restore, do everything in safemode.

Get adaware SE from www.lavasoft.com
ie.

1. Switch off system restore
2. Reboot in safemode
3. Run your antivirus scan
4. Run adaware scan
5. reboot when all cleaned
6. Don't forget to switch system restore back on.

You may be left with one or two problematic viruses/trojans, but at least it will be a lot less work to remove them manually.
