To change the homepage, open internet explorer, click on tools, click on internet options. When internet options opens, you will see the option to change the homepage. You cannot have internet explorer as a homepage as it is only a browser. Instead choose something else and enter the web address. Becarefull when downloading software as it sometimes puts things like yahoo or google on to your pc if you dont click the option not to have it.
To remove yahoo toolbar, click toolbars at the top, then click yahoo and the tick next to it should go away.
