how do i delete files from my hard drive?

my computer has to go for repair,my wife wants to take it to a shop where her friend works,but i have been looking at porn and don't want her to find out how, do i delete those files?

you can download software that cleans your hard drive of unwanted data, deleting it wont remove it from your hard drive, ask Gary Glitter he can confirm that.

Sorry but the answer that you have been given is incorrect. Just doing that only resets a pointer in Windows, the files will still be there and can be read by simple means. Certainly a computer repair shop with have the software to do it. Search the web for many of the freeware utilities for deleting files. They work by overwriting the deleted files so that they can't be read except by some sophisicated hardware/software.

Simply find out where the files are then delete them also open a web page goto internet options and delete the history files and any favourites you don't want her to see Hope that helps
