How can I fix my Samsung vhs recorder?

Our video recorder has suddenly started to play the tapes only in black and white.
We cleaned the heads thinking it could be that, but it is still the same.
Please advise us what we can do?

Thank you
Karen

Otherwise, if connected by RF lead only, ie. tuned to a TV channel position, re-check the tuning in case of tuning drift which can cause colour can drop out, especially on much older TV's.

Not necessarily a fault, try this first...

If the VCR is connected to yout Television's AV input, check on Television that you haven't inadvertently switched it's connection to S-VHS (your user manual will advise).
Alternatively, if there is a spare AV connection on the TV try it on that one instead, if colour returns, it's likely the other socket is switched to S-VHS.
