What is wrong with my Protherm boiler?

My Protherm boiler can work for weeks with no problems then like now can show F0 you turn the boiler off and restart it and then it shows F1. Turning the hot tap on like other people have suggested makes no difference - any suggestions? Have had plumber out to look at it before and he changed a rubber seal? and also a metal contraption of what looked like taps at the back of the boiler? Have tried adjusting the tap at the bottom of the pipe which I had been advised to do as if the pressure drops too low this is how you can get the boiler to work again? But none of the hints and tips work - Is it time to give up on this boiler? From what I have heard this seems to be a common problem.
thanks

Hi we have had nothing but probs with ours for 2 yrs after countless visits from british gas and nearly every part being replaced (and i`m not joking) they decided to replace the gas valve 2 engineers arrived (guess they thought 2 heads were better than one) replaced the valve and hey presto same fault (f1 lock out) on removing the valve to put the old one back on one chap noticed that they can be adjusted and noticed that the new one was nearly closed and on checking the original this was the same so he adjusted the old valve put it back on and it has worked perfect for over 12 months now.Maybe these valves weren`t set right when they left the factory???? the sad fact is i have had 5 new thermistors 1 fan switch 2 pcb`s 2 ignition modules 1 new fan thats what i can remember and in the end it took the turn of a screwdriver!!! Thank god I had boiler cover.I`m not saying this will fix everybodys but if it fixed mine how many more left the factory with these valves not open enough?

This seems to be a common problem. We have managed to get pressure up by turning a small screw on the silver pipe that connects the two outflow pipes on the right. Pressure goes up very quickly though.

Hi Rebecca,

I have a Protherm 80e and have the same problems you've listed. Was anyone able to offer a solution? Have you sorted the problem out? If yes, who fixed it for you?

Thanks
