baxi bermuda inset 2 boiler pilot flame going out?

We have a baxi bermuda back boiler running our central heating system (inset 2 50/4 installed in January 1999). The boiler wasn't firing up so I had the solenoid on the gas valve replaced as I was advised this was the problem.
Now the boiler fires up and the system gives heat and hot water but the pilot light goes out daily and has to be relit ( not always successfully).
I've been advised that the pilot light going out indicates a faulty thermocoupling. Does anyone have any idea whether this could be the case?
I notice in the installation and servicing instructions that the thermocouple attaches to the gas valve and the gas valve was taken out for the solenoid to be replaced. Does anyone have any idea whether the problem could be linked to the repair? (there has never been a problem with the pilot light until the solenoid was replaced)
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have the The Baxi Bermuda inset 2, and had the problem of the pilot light going out at least once a year usually at the start of the winter heating cycle.
I found this was always due to debris collecting around the pilot nozzle thus extinguishing the flame. If you look just below the louveres at the front of the fire you will see a vertical tube which is the pilot chamber air supply/breather, if you attach a 1/4"+ tube to a vacuum cleaner hose you can put it against the air tube which will suck all the debris out from around the pilot - this has worked for me everytime.

My Pilot light has also recently gone out. I can relight it manually but it looks as though the flame is not big enough to reach the thermocouple. What could be causing the gas pressure to drop. I have adjusted the pressure to its max, but the flame still is not big enough.
