How can i fix an ERR code on my Bush vcr905sil?

My vcr does not turn on. The Tape cog spins before coming up with the Err message.Please can you advise. Thanks.

there is a mode select switch under the main mechanism which can be taken apart and cleaned, cause is dryed up grease inside.
