Hi, our boiler will not work properly. When it is switched for hot water only it fires even if the water is not running. Then after a short while a trip switch goes and the boiler stops working. Also we can't get central heating when switched on for that. The room thermostat is at a temp to call for heating but no joy. Has the thermostat gone in the boiler?

hi got a old ideal classic combi nf 80 boiler. problem ok with heating. will not fire up for hot water only. so no hot water. can anyone help.

there is a number of possible problems, does the pump sound like it is running, is the pressure ok on the boiler, you should be able to see by the pressure guage if the pump is running, you should see it move when power is put on to the boiler.
