How can i fix my Lumicron LDC-618Z3 digita camera?

Hi,

I have got a Lumicron LDC-618Z3 digita camera and still having difficulties setting it up to my computer. I have read the enclosed manual and tried installing the driver but as i have windows XP software it is not allowing me to install as should not need the driver as message says "your operation system has the driver already now you can choose the other options or start to use the camera". When going to my computer to add new hardware it asks to select device manufacture and model, it doesnt seem to recognise my camera as giving list of various camera to select eg kodak, Hewlett Packard, olympus etc but no lumicron? Also says if you have installation disc, click hav disc. When you do this it asks to install disc but the driver software doesnt seem to need installed per message given.
Hope you can be able to help. Many thanks.

I have this camera and had the same problem with batteries being fully charged but camera not working. We brought new batteries but the problem was the memory card.Try taking the memory card out, giving it a clean then re-insert.Hopefully like mine it will work.

put your disc that came with the camera in the computer. when it starts up do 1&2 or it wont work!!!(look on page 70 of user guidehow to install software)(its on the disc)
1) install driver first by pressing windows xp/me on window that pops up.it will then install xp driver when its finished installing xp driver
2) press xvid it will now install the xvid driver. another window will pop up press the xvid that ends with .exe it should the install the xvid driver
3)(optional) install applications by pressing on there name
4) make shaw your battery is charged and conect the cable to the camera and to the computer wait for a couple of minutes the computer will install it automaticaly (you dont have to find any programs in windows to install your camera)
** if it doesnt find your camera switch the camera on it should the install it automaticaly

Don't know if this is any help, but I do not think you need to set up any software. I have the same camera, and the PC wouldn't recognise it either. I then de-installed all related Lumicron software, just plugged the lead into the camera and into the PC, switched on the camera, and Windows XP recognised the camera as another hard drive by itself after a little while. You can then just copy pictures off the new "camera drive" (you can see it in Windows Explorer) into your My Pictures etc. on your computer just as any other file you copy.
Tip: You may have to jiggle the connector and push it in quite hard on the camera - as I said, mine didn't recognise it to start with, but eventually did. Good luck.
