Lost IE??? its kinda hard to do as its part of XP . If you had IE7 which with MS updates now its hard not to have it , just go to control panel and uninstall IE7 when next updated it will re-load itself in meantime IE6 will start working again. If it just the IE icon thats gone west>>>> then right click anywhere on desktop choose properties?>desktop tab >customize desktop>and select the radio button next to Internet Explorer. It prob is not letting you install it cos its still there...

hi this is strange as it happened to me once.. how i fixed it was to go to the microsoft update service and download the explorer udates. this, when installed and run triggered the internet explorer to reopen and i was able to put an icon back on to the desk top... dont forget you may have just lost the icon , so check in the "start" programs section to see if its there... then check in the program files area. as a last resort you need to go online and down load it again from the explorer website.. ok

Go to a newsagents and buy a PC magazine with a CD/DVD on the cover. (Check the contents.) Most have a load of "favourites" which will include a copy of IE or Firefox.
