how can i fix my tv?

i have a toshiba, and the picture is very dark, if you bang it it brightens up a little bit but not much. if the programme you are watching is light you get a good picture but if you are watching a dark programme i.e. living dead the picture is very dark. any ideas? please

i am laughing so hard right now cause i have been spending hours trying to find the cure for my black screen.after reading the post above i went over a hit my tv and it is the best it has ever been i even had to turn down the britness its funny but i swear the picture seems so large now. i think the edges of the tv were too dark to even show a picture and i got used to it.thankyou ha ha ha im so happy

Try to pinpoint the sensetive area, then increase the G2 screen adjustment slighty. It is located on the flyback transformer
