how to fix dvdrom drive?

my dvdrom drive and cdrom drive are not working. it wont read any form of cds or dvds

need more info but from what you have given me Sounds like either the laser is shot or a firmware upgrade on the drive would solve the problem, possibly a driver conflict/issue
