Fault on Start up?

Hi. A fault on start up has occured reading
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT LESS_OR EQUAL

cAN YOU HELP PLEASE?
David Francis, September 2007
First things first...
Assuming you cannot boot up and get to windows desktop. Or even if you can..
Try booting up machine with all 'extra's removed, such as non essentual PCI cards and if you have onboard graphics also remove graphics card if using one, and try a boot up with the minimum added, if ok then re-add a card at a time until error reappears, then get updated drivers for device.

'''''''''2
Do you have 'norton antivirus' on your PC? As its known to cause that error with some XP machines.

'''''''''3
Is there anything else after the 'less_or_equal' message such as, something like: SBPCI.SYS or ndis.sys...

'''''''''4
Non Microsoft Certified drivers for PCI cards and especially Graphic & Network cards can also produce this error.
