Why has my rear projection tv started showing a mirror image on screen?

I have a SAMSUNG SP42Q2 rear projection that is almost 3 years old. The problem started gradually but now everytime i turn on the tv it only shows a mirror image on screen.

The same thing has happened to our tv which is exactly the same model as yours and is only 2 years old. We have been on to Samsung and they have said it is one of the chips that have gone these cost around £300.
