Screen problems?

The Mintek 1030 when playing dvd, only displays half the screen. Can it be fixed, as I love this player? Is there a repair shop in Spokane, WA, or send it out?

diagnosing mintek 8.5 1815 ?

The screen shows a "open disk "icon and will not load, even the the cover is securely shut. The unit will load and play if the cover is very slightly ajar and taped to avoid it opening all the way.
