How do I cancel internet explore from start up menu?

When I start my computor up MSN internet explorer comes on to my screen every time also with an error message."cannot find path" I do not want it as my provider as I have AOL broadband
This only occured after I reloaded Windows XP to fix problems with my computer.
Also since reloading XP I cannot plat a DVD as it cannot find a driver now. It did work prior to the reload
Many thanks

DVD play .. Open control panel>system.>hardware>device manager> drive in question click on + sign > properties follow instructions. If it has a problem it will have a yellow ! point and offer to update drivers.

Alternately use Control Panel add install and 'ask' for search of new hardware

Internet Explorer reinstall your ISP software opt out of MSN

Does you Startup Folder contain a shortcut to a website or to a saved document on your hardisk which IE might open for you?

Alternatively, you need to review which software is set to start with your computer. You can see a list using the MSCONFIG utility.
(Click your Start Button > Run and type msconfig into the Open Field.)
