Baxi potterton he 30 . Flashing neon?

Hi, We had the boiler installed 2yrs ago this month. Recently intermittantly the water started to run cold. checking the boiler the flashing neon light is on the 50C neon. I see that this is a fan or flue problem . Phoned baxi up and explained , they said i was only covered for 1 yr ...+3 free month as i had registered with them . Explained only had less than 2 yrs . They have let me take cover out for it but i cant get an engineer until 27 days now . The boiler wont work at all now ...starts up but after about 30 secs , light sr#tarts flashing again . CH wont also work ...Any idea how much this would cost from experience as my mother has offered to pay for someone to come out in the meantime as I dont want me mother stung with a big bill, only its freezing in the house and we have 2 young kids and receive working tax credits .....please can anyonje suggest something ....I have since been told I may have been able to have a boiler installed for free due to the working tax credits etc from warmfront . any help greatly appreciated ..alan

Thanks for the advice , sometimes it does start up and the lights start to come on one by one , like yesterday (for the final time ) after a bit the water went cold again . went upstairs and the light was flashing again .

you can hear it starting up and then it firing up and everything before the light comes on

fan flue faults are generally air pressure switch faults or a blockage on associated connections.

typical aps fault would be when you demand hw for example you'll see the demand light come on, hear the fan spin but no ignition clicking then the fault led will flash.

basically the aps is a safety switch which proves the fan is running and if something is blocked or switch is hitty missy then it thinks the fan has failed so will not ignite the boiler.

dont get involved with money, just do the work get a wage but if you guess allowed £20 for aps and hour labour.

you may also get a call out charge first as my advice is based on your description not actual life experience.
but 90% on fan flue faults are aps, blocked venturi, brittle hoses.
