How long should it take to download the above? also I have my pc connected via a lead that has been wired directly into the back of my main socket on the ground floor and then taken to an upstairs room where my pc is, I keep getting cut off would this be the cause?

To answer your first question: it depends on your download speed. Not a silly answer just a correct one.

If you are trying to download on a dial-up service however then I would forget it - it could take days.

Nor sure what you mean by your wiring description either. For example what do you mean by: "wired directly into the back of my main socket"?
