Glow Worm 50?

I cant relight my boiler (its about 20 years old). A friend said to press the reset button but my boiler does not seem to have one

The piezzo is working I think (I got a slight shock from the wire leading from it).

It went out because the pre-pay meter ran out of money overnight (and the emergency money does not automatically kick in).

I have followed the instructions exactly but the pilot does not seem to light.

Is it safe to try and light it with a long taper or do I need to get someone in - Im job seeker and dont have the money to pay most of my bills let alone a gas contractor and would hate to have to pay someone a lot of money just to turn the dam thing on.

Anyone help?

If its a Gloworm Spacesaver 50 it is best to take the whole case off.4 wing nuts located at each corner. Then turn the gasvalve knob so the pilot sign is in line with the arrow.Push that knob in and put a lit taper to the pilot.then most importantly if it lights HOLD the button in for 30 secs. Then let the button out.Replace the case and tighten the wing nuts before you then turn the gasvalve knob from pilot to on.Then refit the bottom panel.Switch the clock on and call for heat and you should be working.
