my archos 504 wont turn on or charge its just died

Hi there,
My Archos 7 wont turn on. When I charge it, the light is red but even after it charges all night, the light never turns green.
I have tried holding the power button and the volume up button together for 10 to 15 seconds and still nothing.
It just went from one day working to this.
Any suggestions?

I know this was a while ago, but the same has happened to my Archos 504. In response to Milly, is it easy enough to change the battery?

hi ,archos wont turn on but green light is on screen looks blank but with a slight back light if you remove batt and replace green light comes on straight away but nothing else

You need a new battery, i have Just changed one on a Archos 605.

My AV700 has the same fault. I found that it has something to do with the connection that the charger plugs into. If i biased the lead / connector over one way, the charge light would come on and start charging. However, there are times when the charge light does come on but it doesn't actually charge so it's a bit hit and miss. I'm looking for a repair job at the moment. Until then, i'll make do.
