The camera doesn't turn on when the power button is depressed. Batteries are new and connecting to the AC power supply doesn'r help. The "power on" light doesn't light.
Camera is Fuji FinePix 2800 Zoom.

I have the same problem however the camera powers up when I use an external power supply. Perhaps it in the battery compartment area.

Hi. I had an identical problem with my Fuji MX-1700. I switched it on, it powered up, powered down spontaneously, then nothing. Wouldn't switch on, wouldn't charge, zilch. My local camera shop declared it dead. I'm sure it's some sort of processor crash. I took the battery out, left it for a week and when I put the battery back it powered up. I think the battery needs to be out for several days so that the capacitors in the circuit discharge right down to zero. Hope this helps.
