If it is a cheap compact camera, forget repair. the charges for labour just to test, dismantle, re-assemble it,+ spares will cost, + carriage will cost!
Buy another, and look at your insurance!
Prices drop all the time, choose a camera that isn't the VERY latest, look online and grab a bargain.
(for a real bargain, look out for re-furbished- very often just re-packaged, or a return. guarantees will be slightly less).
