This depends on several things: your graphics card, whether it will allow you to change the required resolution for the game(s), which means changing your graphics card.
If you can alter the resolution, do following:
go to control panel
click on display icon - settings should appear
click on settings tab
where you see resolution slider alter with your mouse
alter colour quality if necessary
click on OK
