Donna, a lot of new computers (particularly HP and Sony) have default home pages partnered with AOL. Windows Defender has a home page protection feature which will block attempts to change the home page. If you go into the options or settings for Windows Defender, there should be an option to prompt to allow or block changes to your home page, so you should then be able to authorize the change and not have WD killing it all the time. As for spyware protection, the best program is Spy Sweeper. It's not free, but I see it pick up a lot of things that Ad-Aware (and other programs, like Windows Defender) miss. It isn't perfect, but it is the best out there. A second choice would be Spyware Doctor, which is a markedly improved program compared to previous versions.
