Help, my MP4 player isn't working!!?

I have downloaded some music from the internet to my MP4 and when I went to play something it says that it is empty! When I plug it in to the computer it shows that it is half full, I can play all the tracks from the MP4 via the computer perfectly well, it just doesn't seem to register them now on the thing itself. It's all very frustrating.... Please help...

eventhough it says mp4 doest mean that its an mp4 player and it wont play any mp4 type of files. try to convert your mp4 files to.amv files.

Hi Gillian
Dont know if this helps, I've just bought an mp4 off ebay and am trying to play music videos on it. When connected to pc I can see the videos on the mp4 player yet the player cannot see them on its own.
I have come to the conclusion that I need a programme on the mp4 player to actually play the videos and for the mp4 player to recognise that they are there.
So in your case, could it be that whilst on the internet, you have accidentally removed the programme from your player which actually plays the music files and consequently this is why your player cannot even see the files.
Bit confusing but hope this helps.

Regards
Steve

Lots of possibilities, MP4 is a video format not a music format, most music players play the MP3 format. If you are trying to play a MP4 it may not work at all. Also depending on the player, they could support propriatory formats, eg, sony and I think apple do not nativly play mp3 files, they have to be converted.
