Is now in "Safe" mode - how to get out of it?

Have recently added Panasonic Freeview box to system; on re-connecting equipment Video recorder - LG model LV720 responds with "Safe mode" on pressing any of its buttons; have we done something stupid, or is there a video recorder fault?

On your (original) remote, press the c.lock button (below the rest of the buttons).
That allows you to enter and exit 'safe mode'.
